happy anniversary...
...to my sister Debra and her husband, Ezra. Their anniversary was Monday. Debra is one of my three loyal readers.
See? I didn't forget entirely.

Thank you. My anniversary is not your problem. I don't mean that in a bad way.SInce I've married into this family, I've learned that frickin' greeting cards do not in fact have to be emotional currency. My anniversary is Big Date Night with my husband. I don't need to display my cards; I don't need anyone else to celebrate to make it valid. Mom sends cards to everyone in Ezra's family. It's pathological. My mother-in-law will go on and on about how nice Mom is, and she feels bad for not sending cards the way Mom does. So how nice is that really? I saw David's Father's Day card sit unopened on that ping-pong table for a really long time. So thank you for the acknowledgement, but really, truly, it's okay if you don't send me a card for my anniversary!!! In fact, please don't think me rude if I say please don't send a card. Ezra and I do not ever give each other cards. We don't need Hallmark to say "I love you".
